Sold your business, changed the person in charge, or handing a project to a client? You can **change the ownership of your hosting account** at JetHost. How you do it depends on whether you are moving your whole account or just one service – both are covered below.

## Who can request a change

For security, only the current account owner – the person listed in the Client Area under Account Information – can request an ownership change. To prove ownership, you need access to the account’s administrative email, the Client Area password, or the contact phone number on file.

## Option 1: Change the owner of your whole account

If every service under your account is moving to the new owner, you simply update your account details:

1. Log in to your [JetHost Client Area](https://jethost.com/app/index.php?rp=/login).
2. Open your profile and go to **Update your details** (Account Information).
3. Replace the contact details with the new owner’s information and save.

Remember: changing your Client Area details changes the owner of **all** services in that account. If only one service should move, use Option 2 instead.

## Option 2: Move only one service to a new owner

To transfer just one domain or hosting plan, we split it into a separate Client Area with its own login and owner. There are two ways to set up that new Client Area:

- The new owner **creates their own JetHost account**, and we move the service into it; or
- You **send us the new owner’s details** and we create the account for them.

Either way, send the request from the account’s **administrative email**. If we are creating the account, include the new owner’s details:

- First and last name
- New administrative email address
- Contact phone number
- Postal address, ZIP code, city, and state
- Company or organization name, if any

Once we receive it, our team splits the service into the new Client Area and confirms when it is done.

## JetHost Experts Tip

Before you hand an account to someone else, remove any saved payment methods and change the Client Area password afterwards. It keeps your old billing details private and gives the new owner a clean start.
