Before your AI assistant can manage your hosting or WordPress site, you connect it to your account once through [JetHost MCP](https://jethost.com/mcp-server/). It works with ChatGPT, Claude, and other compatible assistants. This guide shows where to set it up and how to confirm it’s working.

## What you need

An active JetHost hosting service and an AI assistant that supports MCP (for example ChatGPT or Claude). If you want to manage a WordPress site, make sure **WP Manager** is enabled for it – our team can switch it on for free if you don’t see it.

## Connect your assistant

1. Log in to your **JetHost Client Area**.
2. Open **WP Manager** and select your WordPress website, then open **JetHost MCP** (for hosting-only tasks you’ll find the MCP connection details in the same area).
3. There you’ll see your **connection status**, ready-to-use **example prompts**, and the instructions to link your AI assistant.
4. Follow the on-screen steps to add the JetHost MCP connection to ChatGPT, Claude, or your chosen assistant.

## Test the connection

Once connected, ask your assistant a simple, read-only question to confirm it can see your account:

🤖Example prompts

Which hosting services do I have on JetHost?

List the WordPress sites I can manage.

If it lists your services, you’re connected. Now see [how to manage your WordPress site with AI](https://jethost.com/kb/manage-wordpress-with-ai/).

## What connecting unlocks

This one-time setup turns your AI assistant into a hands-on helper for your account. Once connected, a single conversation can manage both your hosting and your WordPress sites – install a new site, update plugins, run a backup, check error logs, manage DNS and email – without ever logging in to the control panel. You do it once, and every future task becomes as simple as asking.

## JetHost Experts Tip

Connect only the assistant you actually use, and disconnect it from your account if you stop using it. MCP respects the access you grant – keeping that list tight is good security hygiene.
