How to Connect MailerLite to WooCommerce Store
One of the most powerful tools for increasing holiday sales is an abandoned cart automation. This simple setup automatically emails customers who leave items in their cart, encouraging them to complete their purchase.
This guide will walk you through connecting MailerLite to your WooCommerce store (hosted on JetHost) and activating this high-value automation.
Install and Connect the MailerLite Plugin
First, we need to get your WordPress site and MailerLite account talking to each other.
1. Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard: Go to your website’s admin panel (e.g., yourstore.com/wp-admin).
2. Add the Plugin: In the left-hand menu, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
3. Find the Plugin: In the search bar, type “MailerLite WooCommerce“.
4. Install and Activate: You should see the “MailerLite WooCommerce Plugin.” Click Install Now, and after it installs, click Activate.
5. Navigate to Plugin Settings: Now, in the left-hand menu, go to WooCommerce > MailerLite. You will see a field asking for an API key.
6. Get Your MailerLite API Key:
7. Connect Your Store:
8. Sync Your Customers: Once connected, you will be prompted to select a MailerLite group. This is where your new WooCommerce customers will be added. Select the group you want (e.g., “WooCommerce Customers”) and click Start import.
That’s it! Your WooCommerce store and MailerLite are now connected and syncing data.
Activate Your Abandoned Cart Automation
Now that the connection is active, you can create the automation workflow in MailerLite.
1. Log in to MailerLite: Go to your MailerLite dashboard.
2. Go to Automations: In the main navigation, click Automations.
3. Start a New Workflow: Click the Create workflow button.
4. Select the Trigger: In the workflow editor, look at the sidebar on the left. Find the section named E-commerce triggers and click on Abandoned cart.
5. Set Your Timing: A pop-up will ask you to set the trigger delay. This is how long MailerLite will wait after a customer abandons their cart before sending the email. A good starting point is 1 hour or 4 hours. Select your time and click Save.
6. Add Your Email: The trigger is now on your canvas. Click the + icon right below the trigger block.
7. Choose the “Email” Step: Select Email from the options.
8. Define Your Email:
9. Design Your Email:
Finish and Activate
Your abandoned cart automation is now live! It will automatically watch for abandoned carts from your WooCommerce store and send your recovery email, helping you reclaim lost sales 24/7.
