How to install FileZilla on a Windows computer
This guide walks you through installing the FileZilla Client on a Windows computer. The steps are simple, and the result is a fully working FTP/SFTP client that you can use to upload, download, and manage website files in your JetHost hosting account.
What you need?
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
Download FileZilla Client
Tip: Always download FileZilla from the official website. Third-party download sites may include outdated versions or unwanted software.

FileZilla offers two products: FileZilla Client and FileZilla Server.
You need the Client, not the Server. The Client connects your computer to your JetHost hosting account so you can transfer files. The Server is used to host your own FTP service on Windows, which is not required for website management.
During the installation
1. Locate the downloaded installer file. Usually in your Downloads folder and double-click it.
2. Windows may display a security prompt. Click Yes to start installation.
3. The installer will guide you through several screens.
4. When you see the message “This installer may include bundled offers,” proceed carefully. Some installers include optional third-party apps.
5. Review each page and click Decline on any software you do not want.
6. Continue through the installation wizard and click Finish when complete.
After installation, FileZilla will appear on your Desktop or in your Start Menu. You can launch it immediately and enter your SFTP details to connect to your JetHost hosting account.
