# How to Reset Your VPS Root Password and View Credentials

If you've lost your VPS root password or want to rotate it, you can view and reset your credentials directly from the JetHost Client Area - no support ticket needed.

## Step-by-step: View or reset credentials

1. Open your VPS in the Client Area and go to the **Credentials** tab.
2. Click **Show Logins** to reveal the stored username and password.
3. To set a new password, **stop the VPS first** (Power tab), then click **Reset Password**.

A root password reset is applied while the server is powered off, so the change is written safely to disk. Stop the VPS from the **Power** tab, perform the reset, then start it again - your services come back up automatically.
