How to Reset Your VPS Root Password and View Credentials
If you’ve lost your VPS root password or want to rotate it, you can view and reset your credentials directly from the JetHost Client Area – no support ticket needed.
Step-by-step: View or reset credentials
1. Open your VPS in the Client Area and go to the Credentials tab.
2. Click Show Logins to reveal the stored username and password.
3. To set a new password, stop the VPS first (Power tab), then click Reset Password.
Why the VPS must be stopped
A root password reset is applied while the server is powered off, so the change is written safely to disk. Stop the VPS from the Power tab, perform the reset, then start it again – your services come back up automatically.

Once you can log in, switch to SSH key authentication and disable password logins. Keys are far harder to brute-force than any password, and you won’t have to reset one again.
