# Transfer domain from Cloudflare

Ready to **transfer your domain from Cloudflare** to JetHost? The steps are simple: unlock the domain, copy its authorization code, and start the transfer in your JetHost Client Area. This guide follows the current Cloudflare dashboard.

## Before you start

Under ICANN rules, a domain can only be transferred if:

- It was registered or last transferred more than **60 days** ago.
- It is not expired and not too close to its expiry date.
- Your registrant (admin) email is current, as transfer notifications are sent there.

Also check that your domain's extension (TLD) is one JetHost can register – this is a JetHost requirement, not an ICANN rule.

## Unlock the domain and get the Auth code

1. In the [Cloudflare dashboard](https://dash.cloudflare.com), open **Manage Domains** and click **Manage** next to your domain.
2. Go to **Configuration** and select **Unlock**, then **Confirm and Unlock**.
3. Copy the **authorization code** that Cloudflare displays on the same page.

The code is case-sensitive, so copy and paste it without extra spaces. If you lose it, lock the domain and unlock it again to generate a new one. For reference, see Cloudflare's own [transfer-out guide](https://developers.cloudflare.com/registrar/account-options/transfer-out-from-cloudflare/).

## Start the transfer at JetHost

If you have not ordered the transfer yet, start it here: [order a domain transfer](https://jethost.com/app/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer). Enter your domain, add it to the cart, and complete the order.

Once the transfer is ordered, add your authorization code:

1. Log in to your JetHost Client Area.
2. Go to **Domains → Manage** and open the domain you are transferring.
3. Paste the **Authorization (EPP) code** and confirm.

Once the code is accepted, the transfer starts automatically. Cloudflare has up to five days to release the domain under ICANN policy, so allow up to a week overall. If it has not completed after seven days, contact our support team to check the status.

Most extensions add a year to your registration when you transfer, so you rarely lose any time already paid for. Your website and email keep running throughout, as long as your DNS records stay the same at JetHost.

## JetHost Experts Tip

Avoid using an email address that depends on the same hosting account (like name@yourdomain.com). If your domain expires or there’s a server issue, you may not receive the alert. Use an external email like Gmail or Outlook to guarantee delivery.
