Тransfer domain from Namecheap

Ready to transfer your domain from Namecheap to JetHost? The process is straightforward: unlock the domain, grab its authorization code, and start the transfer in your JetHost Client Area. This guide walks you through each step with Namecheap’s current interface.

Before you start

Under ICANN rules, a domain can only be transferred if:

  • It was registered or last transferred more than 60 days ago.
  • It is not expired and not too close to its expiry date.
  • Your registrant (admin) email at Namecheap is current, as the authorization code and transfer notifications are sent there.

And check if the extension is one JetHost can register.

Unlock the domain and get the Auth code at Namecheap

  1. Log in to Namecheap and open Domain List from the left menu.
  2. Find your domain and click Manage.
  3. Open the Sharing & Transfer tab and scroll to the Transfer Out section.
  4. Set Domain Lock to Unlock.
  5. Click Show Auth Code (Namecheap also emails it to your registrant address). Copy it exactly.

If Domain Privacy is on, Namecheap handles it during the transfer, but make sure your contact email is one you can access. For more detail, see Namecheap’s own transfer-out guide.

Start the transfer at JetHost

If you have not ordered the transfer yet, start it here: order a domain transfer. Enter your domain, add it to the cart, and complete the order.

Once the transfer is ordered, add your authorization code:

  1. Log in to your JetHost Client Area.
  2. Go to Domains → Manage and open the domain you are transferring.
  3. Paste the Authorization (EPP) code and confirm.

Once the code is accepted, the transfer starts automatically – there is no approval email to click anymore. Namecheap does not offer a manual “release” button for outbound transfers, so the domain is released automatically after the ICANN waiting period of up to five days. Allow up to a week overall, and if it has not completed after seven days, contact our support team to check the status.

JetHost Tip

Most extensions add a year to your registration when you transfer, so you rarely lose any time already paid for. Your website and email keep running throughout, as long as your DNS records stay the same at JetHost.
