What Happens After You Order a VPS: Delivery and First Login

Once you’ve ordered a JetHost VPS, provisioning is automatic. This guide explains how long delivery takes, where to find your login details, and how to connect to your server for the first time.

How long does delivery take?

Deployment takes about one hour for any plan. The moment provisioning finishes, you’ll receive your VPS public IP address and root login details by email.

Finding your VPS in the Client Area

You can always find your server details by logging in to the JetHost Client Area and opening Services -> My Products & Services -> Product Details. This page shows your plan, status, IP address and every management tool for the VPS.

Your first login

  • Note your Main IP and root credentials from the welcome email or the Credentials tab
  • Connect over SSH from your computer (see our guide on connecting via SSH)
  • Or use the built-in browser Console if you prefer not to install anything
  • Run your system updates as the very first step on a fresh server

JetHost Experts Tip

Reset the root password to something only you know right after your first login, and set up an SSH key. It takes two minutes and is the single best thing you can do for your server’s security.
