How to connect a domain to your hosting

Connecting a domain to your hosting tells the internet to load your website and email from your JetHost hosting account. The new DNS Manager makes this a one‑click step with the Connect to hosting button. It points your nameservers to JetHost and sets up the DNS zone for you.

Before you start

You need an active JetHost hosting account and a domain in your account. If you do not have hosting yet, you can order it during this process or on the hosting plans page.

Connect a domain registered at JetHost

  1. Log in to your JetHost Client Area, go to My Domains and click your domain.
  2. Open the DNS Manager and click Connect to hosting in the top‑right corner.
  3. On the Add Domain to Hosting page, choose one of your hosting accounts under Your Hosting Accounts, or click Order New Hosting if you do not have a plan yet.
  4. Tick I understand my nameservers will change, then click Connect domain.

Connecting points your nameservers to JetHost hosting. The current DNS zone may need records re‑created in cPanel, and propagation can take up to 24–48 hours. Once complete, your domain resolves to your hosting and the full DNS zone (A, MX, CNAME, TXT and more) appears in the Records tab.

Connect a domain registered elsewhere

If your domain is registered with another company (for example GoDaddy or Namecheap), you cannot change its nameservers from JetHost. Instead, find your JetHost nameservers (see Where to find JetHost nameservers), then log in to your registrar and set those nameservers on the domain. After propagation, your domain will use JetHost hosting.

Reverting to default DNS

If you need to move the domain off JetHost hosting DNS, open the DNS Manager and click Change to Default Domain DNS in the top‑right corner, or edit the nameservers on the Nameservers tab.

JetHost Experts Tip

If you already had custom DNS records (for email or other services) before connecting, note them down first. Connecting builds a fresh hosting zone, so any custom records may need to be re‑added in the Records tab afterwards.
