How to manage DNS records at JetHost

The JetHost DNS Manager lets you add, edit, and delete the DNS records for any domain that uses JetHost DNS – A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and more – all from one screen, without cPanel. This guide shows how records work and how to make changes safely.

Open the DNS Manager

  1. Log in to your JetHost Client Area.
  2. Go to My Domains and click the domain you want to manage.
  3. Open the DNS Manager and stay on the Records tab.
How to manage DNS records at JetHost

The Records tab, showing the record list, the type filter chips (All, A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.), the search box and the + Add Record button.

Each row shows the record Name, TTL, Type and Record (its value). Use the search box to find a record by name or value, and the type chips at the top to filter by record type. Some records – such as SOA and NS – are marked Locked and are managed automatically by JetHost.

Record types you can add

  • A – points a name to an IPv4 address.
  • AAAA – points a name to an IPv6 address.
  • CNAME – points a name to another hostname (an alias).
  • MX – directs email for the domain to a mail server.
  • TXT – stores text values such as SPF and verification records.
  • DMARC – a policy record for email authentication.

Add a record

  1. Click + Add Record and choose a type from the drop‑down (A, AAAA, CNAME, DMARC, FRAME, MX, TXT, URL).
  2. Fill in the fields for that record. For most records you set the Name, TTL and Record value. Use @ in the Name field for the root domain (apex), or a label such as www for a subdomain.
  3. Review the Live Preview line (shown for records like MX) to confirm the record reads correctly before saving.
  4. Click Save changes. The banner at the top shows how many unsaved changes you have; you can also click Discard all to undo them.

New records being added, showing the “You have N unsaved change(s)” banner, the Discard all / Save changes buttons, and an expanded MX record with its Name, TTL, Priority, Mail server fields and the Live Preview.

Edit or delete a record

To edit a record, change its values directly in the row (Name, TTL, or the record value), then click Save changes. To remove a record, click the trash icon in the Actions column and save. Locked records cannot be edited or deleted.

About TTL

TTL (Time To Live) is how long, in seconds, servers cache the record before checking again. A common value is 3600 (one hour). Lower values make changes propagate faster but increase lookups; higher values cache longer. If you plan to change a record soon, lower its TTL a day in advance.

JetHost Experts Tip

Records only appear here when your domain uses JetHost DNS. If the DNS Manager shows a Connect to hosting button and no records, your domain’s nameservers may still point elsewhere. Check the Nameservers tab first.
