How to Fix the ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED Error

What the error means
Your browser opened a connection and it closed before any reply arrived. Something cut the line – a dropped network, a VPN or firewall, or the server ending the connection early. The page did not refuse or time out; the link just closed.
Quick fixes to try first
- Reload, then restart your router and device.
- Turn off any VPN or proxy and retry.
- Pause your firewall or antivirus for a moment to see if one is closing the connection.
- Clear your browser cache and flush your DNS cache.
- Try another network, such as mobile data, to rule out your current one.
If the website is yours
- Check the server firewall and security rules – a rule that closes connections can catch real visitors.
- Rule out overload. A server low on resources may close connections until it recovers.
- Test from several networks and devices to tell a server problem from one visitor’s setup.
